O presente relatório diz respeito ao estágio curricular que integra o Mestrado em Gestão e Direção Hoteleira, na Escola Superior de Gestão, Hotelaria e Turismo da Universidade do Algarve. O objetivo principal deste relatório é apresentar uma descrição e uma análise das atividades desempenhadas durante o estágio realizado na empresa Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., mais especificamente na sede da mesma para a região EAME (Europa, África e Médio Oriente), localizada em Bruxelas, Bélgica. O estágio realizouse no período compreendido entre 12 de Janeiro e 10 de Julho de 2015. O objetivo principal do estágio centra-se na aplicação dos conhecimentos adquiridos durante o primeiro ano do Mestrado, possibilitando igualmente o contacto direto com a área de estudo, neste caso, a indústria hoteleira. O estágio foi realizado no departamento de Operações, tendo sido incluído na equipa de Supply Chain (Cadeia Logística/de abastecimento) como estagiário trainee, participando ativamente nas decisões/ações da equipa. O relatório encontra-se dividido em seis partes: 1. Introdução, onde são explicadas as escolhas pelo estágio e pela empresa de acolhimento; 2. Caracterização da empresa, onde é feito um enquadramento histórico da empresa de acolhimento, assim como uma apresentação da sua estrutura, missão, visão e valores; 3. A equipa de Supply Chain, capítulo onde é apresentada a equipa em que estive inserido e os objetivos da mesma; 4. A cadeia de abastecimento, onde é feito um enquadramento teórico sobre a cadeia de abastecimento; 5. O estágio, onde é feita uma descrição das funções, tarefas e responsabilidades desempenhadas ao longo do estágio; e 6. Considerações finais, onde é apresentada uma conclusão, como reflexão sobre toda a experiência.

This report refers to an internship performed under the context of the Master in Hospitality Management, which is led by Escola Superior de Gestão, Hotelaria e Turismo, UAgl (Algarve University). The main objective of this report is to present a description and analysis of the activities performed during the internship taken at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., more specifically in the head office for the EAME (Europe, Africa and Middle East) region located in Brussels, Belgium. The internship took place from the 12th of January until the 10th of July of 2015. The main objective of the internship has the focus on the application the the knowledge acquired during the first year of the Master, enabling as well the direct contact with the areas of study, in this case the hospitality industry. The internship was taken in the Operations department, being me included in the Supply Chain team as a trainee, having active participations in the team actions/decisions. The report is divided in six parts: 1. Introduction, where it is presented the reasons for the choices for the internship and the company; 2. Company overview, where it’s made an overview of the company where the internship took place; 3. The Supply Chain team, in this part is presented the team where I was included, as well as the tasks and objectives of the same in the company; 4. The Supply Chain, a theoretical overview regarding Supply Chain; 5. The internship, where it is made a description of the tasks, functions and responsibilities performed during the internship; 6. Final considerations, at the end is finalized with a conclusion, as a final reflection of all experience.
