Por todo o lado se ouve falar de empreendedorismo e hoje em dia muitos ambicionam vir a ser verdadeiros empreendedores. Até há bem pouco tempo, para os portugueses, a inovação e a criatividade não eram vistas como janelas de oportunidade. No entanto, nos últimos anos assistiu-se a uma significativa alteração de paradigma, com a criação de negócios inovadores capazes de mostrar o seu valor a nível nacional e internacional. Consciente da importância do empreendedorismo como motor de crescimento económico, a Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (CML) tem vindo a definir a sua própria estratégia, com o objetivo de criar um ecossistema empreendedor atrativo e dinâmico. A presente dissertação visa perceber quais as razões que levam um empreendedor a sediar o seu projeto em Lisboa. Nesta investigação pretende-se, igualmente, estudar os apoios ao empreendedorismo nesta cidade, incidindo sobre as linhas de ação da CML, com o objetivo de compreender o ecossistema empreendedor lisboeta e a sua evolução nos últimos cinco anos.

Everywhere we hear about entrepreneurship and today many aspire to become true entrepreneurs. Until not very long ago, for the Portuguese people, innovation and creativity were not seen as windows of opportunity. However, in recent years there has been a significant paradigm change, with many innovative businesses being able to show their value at a national and international level. Aware of the importance of entrepreneurship as an economic growth engine, Lisbon’s City Council (CML) has come to define its own strategy, with the goal of creating an attractive and dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem. This work aims to understand the reasons that lead an entrepreneur to host his project in Lisbon. In this investigation we intend to study the support for entrepreneurship in this city, focusing on the lines of action of CML, in order to understand Lisbon’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and its evolution over the past five years.
