Moradia e meio ambiente: extensão universitária e compromisso social

This book’s guideline is a description of the activities developed during the University Extension project entitled "Housing and Environment: building dialogue over the urbanization of the settlement Ilha", located in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. This project was coordinated by professors from the Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR). The initial objectives of the extension project were to investigate ways of intervention on the scenario of poor conditions of housing and urbanization of the settlement Ilha, for their land regularization. The book tells the story of the extension project, showing how the initial goals have changed with time. In addition, this book describes the frustrations and the learning process along the way, from the view of professors and students of UTFPR who actively participated in this project. This book also intends to report the feelings that the villagers attributed to their place of residence; the joys, stumbling and learning by using a participatory methodology from what Paulo Freire says about popular education. Moreover, the book brings the confrontation between the technical and popular vision on the regularization of the area.

O fio condutor deste livro é uma descrição da experiência realizada durante o projeto de extensão universitária “Moradia e Meio Ambiente: a construção do diálogo na urbanização do assentamento Ilha”, localizado na Região Metropolitana de Curitiba. Este projeto foi coordenado por professores da Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR). Os objetivos iniciais do projeto de extensão eram investigar formas de intervenção nas condições precárias de moradia e urbanização da Ilha, visando sua regularização fundiária. O livro conta a trajetória do projeto de extensão, mostrando como os objetivos inicialmente traçados foram mudando com o tempo. Além disso, este livro descreve as frustrações e os aprendizados ao longo do caminho, a partir da experiência dos professores e alunos da UTFPR que participaram ativamente neste projeto. Este livro procura também relatar os sentidos e significados que os moradores atribuíam ao seu local de moradia; as alegrias, tropeços e aprendizados de se utilizar uma metodologia participativa a partir do que diz Paulo Freire sobre a educação popular. E por fim, o livro relata os confrontos entre uma visão técnica e outra popular acerca da regularização fundiária da área.
