This study looks toward bringing to light the multiple aspects of the pattern of use of Internet in academic activities, according to a research model based on literature in the area and tested empirically. The field research covered a sample of 195 faculty members working in the five largest Universities of the Brazilian Northeast. The results reveal a reasonable pattern of Internet use
