An analysis of Jacques Tourneur's 1944 film This article examines the construction of gender through Tourneur's handling of mise en scene and narrative in his 1944 film, Experiment Perilous. Locating it within a broader genre context, and paying reference to Tourneur's interest in psychoanalysis, it is argued that the film offers a subversive take on the genre. |
