Description based on: jan. 1706 (t. 4e). "This work was commenced by C. Jordan, with A. Chevallier, a bookseller of Luxemburg as publisher. Tom. 1-25 appeared at Luxemburg under this arrangement; tom. 1-24 bearing the false imprint "imprimé chez Jacques le Sincère," etc. In 1716 the parties quarrelled and the work was thenceforward separately carried on by each. Chevallier continued to publish it at Luxemburg under its original title, as before, with the exception that the imprint “Luxemburg, chez A. Chevallier” was substituted for the assumed one; and it was carried on by him and his successors, until 1773, when, after 138 volumes had been issued, it ceased to appear under its original title."--British Library catalogue.
