Resumo

Sculpture known as Trophies of Marius, but commemorating Domitian's Germanic victories, moved from the present Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II to the Capitoline Hill at Michelangelo's direction.

Imprint date, 1780, from Hind who notes: "In this edition the Frammento di uno scudo which occurs on same page with new engraved title is numbered XVIII, a relic of its place in the Rovine dell Castello dell'Acqua Giulia, 1761."

Plates 4-5, 7-9 by Francesco Piranesi; one dated 1778.
