Designed to bring down the narrative of sacred history from the creation of the world to the epoch at which Prideaux's work begins (Old and New Testament connected ... from the declension of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah to the time of Christ, London, 1716-18) The third volume ends with the times of Joshua; the death of the author prevented the publication of a projected fourth volume. cf.
