Since most of the v. 3-21 and the "Bihang [äldre serien]" were incomplete when the plan of publication was changed, the numbers needed to complete these volumes are issued as supplements (Bilagor) to the volumes for 1904- . Other monographs with heft numbering only are being issued, volume numbering for which is to be supplied later. cf. Svensk bok-katalog.

The plan of publication was changed in 1904. Since then the periodical itself ("den egentliga tidskriften"), appears without volume numbering.

From 1881 to 1903 the periodical consisted of monographs which were issued as printed, regardless of the volume to which they belonged.

A continuous whole numbering runs throughout this publication and its supplements. Several volumes, each with their own separate title page and index, are gathered by means of a general series title page and index into one large volume.
