M. de Gand's Recherches historiques et critiques sur la vie et les éditions de Thierry Martens (Alost, 1845) which was edited by F. J. de Smet under Van Iseghem's supervision. The "Becherches" was suppressed by Van Iseghem and the "Biographie" issued "au lieu d'un ouvrage inexact et incomplet." "Rectifications et additions" (p. 353-358) are dated Alost, juin 1854.
