Resumo

A Turkish commentary on "Mas̲navī maʻnavī" of Jalāladdīn Rūmī commissioned by Sultan Murad III (982-1003 AH /1574-95 AD).

30 x 21.2 cm (26.5-27 x 17.5-18 cm).

Thick light-cream glazed laid paper, pale-brown leather binding. Torn parts in spine. Back cover separated from board.

According to the colophon (f. 334r), copy completed on 14 Muḥarram 1025 AH [February 1, 1616 AD] in the hand of Muḥammad (Mehmed). Folios 39-41 added later by a different hand.

Written in naskh script, in one column, 25-30 lines per page, in black with section headings in red. underlined in red. Mesnevî verses red overlined. Catchwords. Occasional notes in the margins.

Illegible seals on f. 1r.

Missing leaves between f. 41 and f. 42.
