Valladolid, now Morelia an the state of Michoacán, was an important ecclesiastical center and a stronghold of clerical conservatism. Founded in 1541, it became the capitol of Michoacan in 1582. It was renamed "Morelia" in 1828 in honor of José María Morelos. Geographically the accounts in this manuscript extend over much of the surrounding region. Leaves 188-284 blank. |
