Handwritten diploma with the Harvard University seal conferring a bachelor's degree on Cornelius Coolidge and signed by the members of the Harvard Corporation: President Joseph Willard; Fellows Oliver Wendell, John Lowell, James Bowdoin, Simeon Howard, and John Lathrop; and Treasurer Ebenezer Storer.

This item was donated to Houghton Library on July 27, 1994 by Boston antiquarian bookseller George Goodspeed (1903-1997; Harvard AB 1925) and transferred to the Harvard University Archives in 1999 as part of George Goodspeed's collection of Harvardiana.

The item was originally cataloged as part of HUA 734.

Cornelius Coolidge (1778-1843) received an AB from Harvard in 1798 and an AM in 1801. Coolidge became an architect and real-estate developer in Boston.
