A commonplace book kept by Parsons outling various legal issues including getting a negro with child, slander, deceit, bills of exchange, debt,assault and battery, quantum meruit by a physician, ejectment, covenant, and liberty of the yard. Many of these topics include also forms of declaration. HLS MS 1091, Harvard Law School Library. Parsons practiced law in Massachusetts from 1774. He was active in discussions of the new constitution proposed in Massachusetts in 1778. He served as chief justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (1806-1813). |
