Seven manuscript journals written by Abiel Heywood (Justice of the Peace, town clerk, and chairman of the board of selectmen, Concord, Mass.), Nathan Brooks, William Parkman, and John L. Tuttle containing criminal records, defaulted cases, and civil actions.

According to William Davis's Bench and Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (1895), Abiel Heywood, a graduate of Harvard in 1781, settled in Concord where he was town clerk and selectman and in 1802 was appointed special justice of the Court of Common Pleas; Nathan Brooks, a graduate of Harvard in 1809, settled in Concord in 1813, and was a representative from 1823 to 1825, a member of the Executive Council in 1829, and a senator in 1831; John Leighton Tuttle, a graduate of Harvard in 1796, settled in Concord as a lawyer.
