El Periodismo Italo Platense del Siglo XIX

En este breve estudio hemos pretendido proporcionar algunas nociones generales acerca del "cuarto poder" italiano de la ciudad de La Plata. Así, corroboramos que fue el más importante periodismo extranjero, tanto por su calidad como por su cantidad. Sin excepción ofreció sus columnas a sus paisanos con el fin de que pudieran hacer públicas sus inquietudes y necesidades. Asimismo, trasmitió conceptos claros tendientes a fortalecer las raíces peninsulares, pero, simultáneamente procuró conferir a los inmigrantes un sentido de pertenencia a la nueva capital bonaerense. Dicho en otros términos, este importante actor social y político gravitó significativamente para que La Plata sea una ciudad con una indeleble impronta itálica.

In this brief study we pretended to give some general notions about the Italian "fourth power" on La Plata city. This way, we corroborated that it was the most important abroad journalism, as much as its quality as its quantity. Without exception it offered its columns to its fellow compatriots in order to help them make public their doubts and necessities. At the same time, transmitted clear concepts tending to make stronger the peninsular bond, but simultaneously tried to give to the immigrants a sense of belonging to the new bonaerense capital. In other words, this important social and political actor had a significant participation in making La Plata a city with an indelible italic influence.
