Historia, memoria y mito : Lecturas de la Guerra Civil Española

El siguiente artículo ofrece una breve discusión en torno a algunos trabajos que se ocupan de las formas de la elaboración histórica y literaria de la Guerra civil española en España y Alemania, e intenta formular algunas preguntas que ayuden a lograr un mejor entendimiento de los desarrollos recientes en la cultura de la memoria en Europa. Un interrogante central a ser discutido aquí, surgido de un primer acercamiento a la literatura sobre el tema, es por qué la palabra "mito" va con tanta frecuencia asociada a la memoria de la guerra civil española, sea cual sea la orientación política del texto. En las páginas que siguen, se intentará abordar el debate teniendo en cuenta ésta y otras cuestiones y las diversas voces -enunciadas y silenciadas- de una historia ya contada de muchas maneras diversas.

The following article provides a brief discussion of some of the works dealing with the historical and literary writings of the Spanish Civil War in Spain and Germany, trying to formulate a number of questions that may facilitate a better understanding of recent developments in the European culture of memory. A central question that is to be discussed here is as follows: Why is the word 'myth' so often associated with the remembrance of the Spanish Civil War, without considering the specific political orientation of each text? To illuminate the ongoing debate with regard to this and other questions, several voices - both 'active' and 'silent' - of a (hi)story that has been told in many ways.
