Máster en Oceanografía [EN] We analyse inter-decadal variations, between 1957 and 2010, of different thermodynamic stability variables in a transatlantic section along 7.5ºN. The results reveal an enhancement of small-scale activity between 1993 and 2010, with the mean number of density overturns per station increasing from 250 ± 70 to 390 ± 70, but retaining similar mean vertical extension (about 2 ± 0.4 m). |
