Absenteísmo odontológico e médico no serviço público e privado

O absenteísmo é um motivo de interesse crescente, visto o atual contexto econômico de competitividade, fazendo com que as empresas procurem meios para diminuir sua ocorrência, aumentando sua rentabilidade e com isto crescendo de forma sustentada. Constatado as inúmeras variáveis envolvidas no processo, procurou-se estudar o absenteísmo por razões médicas e odontológicas, no serviço público e privado, analisando se a idade, sexo e função do trabalhador, além do regime empregatício interferem na sua ocorrência. Desenvolveu-se o estudo numa indústria acrílica e na prefeitura do município de Araçatuba, São Paulo, Brasil. Para a coleta dos dados analisaram-se todos os atestados médicos e odontológicos, que deram entrada nas empresas no período de janeiro a junho de 2002 e as listagens dos trabalhadores. Verificou-se que a falta por motivos odontológicos tem pouco peso sobre o total de faltas por motivo de doença, além de provocarem o afastamento do trabalhador por um período menor. As variáveis idade, sexo, função e regime empregatício influenciam na ocorrência do absenteísmo ao trabalho. A disponibilidade destas informações deverá ser muito importante, pois visto as inúmeras variáveis envolvidas, facilitarão a tomada de decisões das distintas estratégias para sua prevenção

The absenteeism is a reason of increasing interest, seen the current economic context of competitiveness, making with that the companies look ways to diminish its occurrence, increasing its yield and with this growing in a supported form. Evidenced the innumerable involved variables in the process, it was looked to analyze the absenteeism for medical and dentistry reasons, in the public and private service analyses if that the age, sex and function of the worker, within the employment regimen intervene with its occurrence. It was developed in an acrylic industry and the city hall of the city of Araçatuba, São Paulo, Brazil. For the collection of the data, all the certifications of the doctors and dentists had been analyzed, that were presented in the companies in the period of January to the June of 2002 and the listings of the workers. It was verified that the lack for dentistry reasons has little weight on the total of lacks for illness reason, besides provoking the removal of the worker for a lesser period. The variables age, sex, function and employment regimen influenced in the occurrence of the absenteeism to the work. The availability of this information should be very important, therefore seen the innumerable variables involved, they will facilitate the taking of decisions of the distinct strategies for its prevention
