A ordem SV/VS no português como L2 na fronteira Brasil/Paraguai: uma investigação sociofuncionalista na interface variação/aquisição

Considerando que diversas pesquisas na área de Aquisição da Linguagem atestam que quando a língua materna, L1, tem a ordenação de constituintes mais livre em relação a uma segunda língua em aquisição, L2, parâmetros de ordenação de L1 interferem na aquisição de L2 (ODLIN, 1989), buscamos neste trabalho investigar, por meio do controle de fatores linguísticos e sociais, a ordem de palavras no português em aquisição como L2 por crianças paraguaias da fronteira Brasil/Paraguai, tendo como hipótese que, nas fases mais iniciais de aquisição do português, há a interferência de parâmetros de ordenação de L1, o espanhol paraguaio, em razão das diferenças tipológicas entre L1 e L2, a saber: o espanhol, uma língua de ordem mais livre do que o português. O nível de interferência diminui à medida que aumenta o tempo de exposição da criança à língua alvo, mas padrões de L1 podem permanecer em L2, como mostramos por meio da análise comparativa de nossos resultados com os de Chaves (1989), que investigou, na mesma comunidade a ordenação de constituintes no português falado por paraguaios adultos. Para testar nossa hipótese, foi utilizado o método sociolinguístico quantitativo. O córpus é resultante da seleção de 440 sentenças, fornecidas a partir de 12 horas de gravações em áudio da fala de seis crianças paraguaias que estudam em escolas de Bela Vista (MS) e que apresentam diferentes tempos de contato com o português: duas do 1° ano do Ensino Fundamental, duas do 2° ano do Ensino Fundamental e duas do 3° ano do Ensino Fundamental. Do total de 440 sentenças analisadas, 380 (86,4%) apresentaram ordem SV e 60 (13,6%) apresentaram ordem VS. Alguns fatores linguísticos e sociais mostraram-se estatisticamente relevantes no condicionamento da inversão da ordem: status informacional do sujeito, tipo de estado de coisas, presença de advérbio inicial, animacidade

Considering that many researchers in the area of Language Acquisition testify that when the mother tongue, L1, has the ordering of constituents freer in relation to second language acquisition, L2, ordering parameters of L1 interfere in the acquisition of L2 (ODLIN, 1989), we seek with this work to investigate, through linguistic and social factors, the word order in the acquisition of Portuguese as L2 spoken by Paraguayan children from the borderline Brazil/Paraguay, having as hypothesis that, in the first stages of the Portuguese acquisition, there is the interference of L1 ordering parameters, the Paraguayan Spanish, due to typological differences between L1 and L2: Spanish is a language with a freer order, compared to Portuguese. The interference degree diminish as the period of exposal of the child to the target language grows, but patterns of L1 may remain in L2, as we show through a comparative analysis of our results with those from Chaves (1989), who investigated, in the same community, the ordering of constituents in the Portuguese spoken by Paraguayan adults. To test our hypothesis, the quantitative sociolinguistic method was used: the result corpus of the selection of 440 sentences, supplied from 12 hours of audio recording of speech of six Paraguayan children who study in schools of Bela Vista (MS) and who have different period exposal to the Portuguese language, two from the 1st year of elementary education, two from the 2nd year of elementary education, and two from the 3rd year of elementary education. From the total of 440 analyzed sentences, 380 (86,4%), presented order SV and 60 (13,6%) presented order VS. Some linguistic and social factors were statistically relevant in determining the reversal of the order: informational status of the subject, kind of state of affairs, presence of initial adverb, animacy of the subject and fluency in the languages of contact
