Avaliação limnológica em um sistema de piscicultura na região de Paranaíta (MT, Brasil)

O acelerado crescimento da aqüicultura, e a carência de tecnologias adequadas de manejo desta atividade, têm causado uma grande degradação ambiental com comprometimento dos recursos hídricos. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a qualidade da água de uma piscicultura (Paranaíta, MT) através de análises físicas e químicas. Para tanto, foram realizadas coletas mensais ao longo de onze meses, nos quais foram amostrados sete pontos, cinco dos quais localizados dentro do sistema e dois fora da piscicultura (rio). Os resultados das análises físicas e químicas da água demonstraram o efeito do manejo na qualidade da água, sendo possível observar variabilidade espacial e temporal da qualidade da água. A instabilidade do ambiente foi a principal função de força nesse sistema, devido ao seu pequeno tamanho, pouca profundidade, baixo tempo de retenção da água e constante turbulência, e, também devido a flutuação anual dos fatores c1imatológicos (precipitação e vento). De maneira geral, as variações limnológicas foram maiores na represa com sistema estagnado, apresentando elevadas concentrações de nutrientes durante o período de despesca. Na represa com fluxo contínuo as alterações não foram estatisticamente significantes (P>0,05). Na saída do sistema de produção, antecedendo sua descarga no rio, foi observada alteração significativa (P<0,05) para a variável amônia, que não influenciou na qualidade da água do corpo receptor, provavelmente, devido à grande quantidade de macrófitas existentes no canal condutor da descarga até o rio Porto de Areia que funcionou como um biofiltro. The accelerated growth of the aquaculture, and the lack of adequate technologies for the management of this activity, have been the main causes for tremendous environment degradation as well as a great threat to our water resources. This work aimed evaluates the (Paranaíta, MT) pisciculture system quality through physical, chemical. Samples of water were colleted monthly (eleven months) in seven sites, five inside the system and two outside the system (in the river). The overall results showed that management of system in the water quality of fishponds being possible to see the temporal and spatial variability of water quality. The instability of the physical conditions of the environment was the main forcing function in this aquatic system, due to the small size, the shallowness, short residence-time, turbulence and also due the fluctuation of the climatological parameters (precipitation and wind). ln a general way, values of the limnology variables were higher in the dam with stagnated system, presenting high concentrations of nutrients during the fish collecting period. In the continuous flow dam the alterations were not statistically important (P>0,05). In the exit production system, preceding its discharge in the river, significant alteration was observed (P <0,05) for the ammonia variable, that haven't influenced the river water quality probably due to the great amount of aquatic plants in the outlet channel to Porto de Areia river. However, the variables total phosphorous and orthophosphates, alkalinity and hardness, were not statistically significant (P>0,05) to change variables, although presented alteration in relation to the production system. Those alterations can influence in the characteristic of the spring, mainly in a short rain period, it's suggested a better monitoring in order to have an effective environmental control of the studied system
