A velocidade e a fluidez são imperativos basilares para a reprodução do grande capital. Desta forma, os objetos e suas ações buscam atender a estes anseios hegemônicos. E dentre estes objetos, há destaque para os sistemas de movimento viário, composto pelas pontes, viadutos e túneis, obras de engenharia que atendem a esta necessidade cada vez mais evidente no atual período técnico-científico-informacional. Assim, seguindo tal premissa, torna-se perceptível que estes objetos técnicos refletem a constituição espacial de Natal, capital do estado do Rio Grande do Norte, onde os sistemas de movimento viário auxiliam a entender o processo de fragmentação e segregação espacial natalense, acelerado no final do século XX. Utilizando como instrumento para análise a legislação urbanística desenvolvida na capital potiguar pela administração municipal, o presente trabalho busca compreender, através de uma matriz de periodização, como estes sistemas de movimento configuraram o espaço natalense e qual a lógica hegemônica existente para delimitar a constituição e localização de cada um destes sistemas de movimento viário, particularmente no que se diz respeito à relação existente entre estes e a ampliação das possibilidades de fluidez para determinados setores da economia natalense. Através de gráficos, mapas e figuras buscam-se compreender quem são os setores hegemônicos que mais se beneficiam e quais pontos do espaço natalense são mais beneficiados nestas relações existentes entre os sistemas de movimento viário (fixos) e os respectivos fluxos que os utilizam para a sua maior reprodução
