Resumo

The thesis examined the transition of new teachers with a skills-based Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) into diverse English Language Teaching sites around the world. The mixed methods study demonstrated that the first year of teaching was a precarious journey for most of these teachers.<br />
