The synthesis and molecular structure are reported of the first example of a diorganotin oxide, {<i>p</i>-[R(O)SnCH<sub>2</sub>SiMe<sub>2</sub>]<sub>2</sub>C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>4</sub>}<sub>3</sub> (<b>3</b>) (R = (Me<sub>3</sub>Si)<sub>2</sub>CH), in which two six-membered Sn<sub>3</sub>O<sub>3</sub> units are linked by three -CH<sub>2</sub>Si(Me)<sub>2</sub>C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>4</sub>Si(Me)<sub>2</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>- spacers. <br /> |
