Introduction

This introductory chapter begins with an explanation of the aim of this book, namely to explore the different ways that ethnocultural diversity issues are conceptualised and debated in South and East Asia. It discusses the new politics of diversity in Asia, and the local and global models of multiculturalism. An overview of the chapters included in this volume is then presented.<br /><br />
