Orientação sexual como tema transversal em escolas públicas de Curralinhos-PI

Este estudo objetivou analisar a prática docente relacionada à orientação sexual enquanto tema transversal em escolas públicas no munícipio de Curralinhos-PI, e neste encalço, identificar as formas de práticas docentes relacionadas à orientação sexual enquanto tema transversal; caracterizar os fatores condicionantes para a realização da abordagem da orientação sexual em sala de aula; verificar a contribuição das oficinas do Programa Saúde e Prevenção na Escola (SPE) na formação continuada da prática docente e, a percepção de professores e alunos, quanto à relevância da abordagem do tema em questão de forma sistemática e transversal nas referidas escolas. Trata-se de um estudo com abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa com função de complementaridade, realizada em duas escolas públicas (X e Y) do município de Curralinhos-PI, de ensino fundamental e ensino médio, respectivamente, envolvendo uma amostra de 8 (oito) professores, que participaram das oficinas do SPE e 116 alunos, sendo 54 da escola X e 62 da escola Y. Os instrumentos da coleta de dados foram a entrevista e o questionário semiestruturados, originários de um roteiro de questões-guia. A coleta de dados foi realizada no segundo semestre de 2011, nos meses de agosto a setembro. Os resultados apontaram que é grande a necessidade de se discutir e implementar a orientação sexual no espaço escolar, pois embora a maioria dos professores entrevistados reconheçam a importância de se trabalhar a orientação sexual como tema transversal e demonstrarem conhecer esta proposta dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCNs), ainda são difusas as práticas incorporadas em suas atividades pedagógicas. Quanto aos alunos, evidenciaram que ainda se fazem presentes dúvidas e angústias, assim como dificuldades para a lida com o tema da sexualidade.

The aim of the present study is to analyze teacher practice related to sexual orientation as a transversal theme in public schools in the municipality of Curralinhos-PI and, in this route, to identify ways of teaching practices related to sexual orientation as a crosscutting theme; characterize factors that influence the approach to the achievement of sexual orientation in the classroom; determine contribution of workshops of the Programa Saúde e Prevenção na Escola (SPE - Health and Prevention at School Program) in the continuing education of teaching practice, and the perception of teachers and students in as far as relevance of the approach of the topic in a systematic and transversal manner in the referred to schools. The study undertaken herein is of a qualitative and quantitative nature with a complementary function, held in two public schools (which we shall name X and Y) in the municipality of Curralinhos-PI, a primary and secondary levels, respectively, involving a sample of eight teachers who participated in the SPE workshops and 116 students, divided in the following manner: 56 from school X and 62 of school Y. The instruments used to collect data were semi-structures interviews and questionnaires, originating from a script of guiding issues. The collecting of the data for the study took place during the second half of 2011, in the months of August and September. Results point out a great need to debate and implement sexual orientation at school for, although the majority of the teachers interviewed recognize the importance of dealing with sexual orientation as a transversal theme and show they are familiar with the proposal contained within the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (National Curriculum), practices incorporated into their teaching activities are still protracted. In as far as the students are concerned, they make it obviously known that they still hold a great deal of doubt and anxiety, as well as difficulties in dealing with the sexuality issue.
