Hacia el triunfo de la etnicidad en Bahía Portete: del terror a la memoria histórica

Esta investigación pretende analizar la instrumentalización de lo étnico después de la masacre en Bahía Portete (La Guajira, Colombia, 2004); Instrumentalización entendida como el uso estratégico de la diferencia para negociar, visibilizar, perseguir objetivos y obtener reconocimiento, en el marco de unas relaciones de poder que se dan dentro de un Estado que ha tendido a convertir lo étnico en punto de acción. En este sentido, se describe el contexto de la comunidad Wayuu en Colombia y algunos mecanismos estatales que convirtieron lo étnico en foco de acción. Este estudio se enmarca en el debate acerca de la construcción de sujetos étnicos dentro del Estado Colombiano y busca entender el uso estratégico de la etnicidad a partir de las acciones emprendidas por la comunidad Wayuu de Bahía Portete después de la masacre para lo cual la metodología de investigación será principalmente el análisis de fuentes académicas sobre lo étnico en Colombia y en general, entrevistas a los líderes de la comunidad, noticias sobre eventos estratégicos y el análisis de fuentes y de los mecanismos Estatales que tienen lo étnico como foco de acción.

This research aims to analyze the instrumentalization of ethnicity after the massacre in Bahia Portete (La Guajira, Colombia, 2004); Instrumentalization understood as the strategic use of the difference to negotiate, make visible, pursue goals and gain recognition in the framework of power relations that occur within a State that has tended to turn what the ethnic as point of action. In this sense, it describes the context of the Wayuu community in Colombia and some state mechanisms that converted the ethnic in a point of the State action. This study is part of the debate about the construction of ethnic subjects within the Colombian State and seeks to understand the strategic use of ethnicity from the actions undertaken by the Wayuu community of Portete Bay after the massacre, to which the research methodology will be mainly the analysis of academic sources on ethnicity in Colombia and in general, interviews with the leaders of the community, news on events and strategic analysis of the sources and mechanisms of the State that have the ethnic as the focus of action.
