Las relaciones colombo-ecuatorianas estan enmarcadas en un periodo de tension en el 2003-2010. Sin embargo, el sector energético entre Colombia y Ecuador hace que estos países tengan una relacion de interdependencia, según la teoría de la Interdependencia Compleja de Josehp Nye y Robert Kehoane. De esta forma se visualiza los diferentes lazos de interdependencia que existen en el tema energético. The relations between Colombia and Ecuador are framed in a period of tension in 2003-2010. However, the energy sector between Colombia and Ecuador means that these countries have a relationship of interdependence as the theory of complex interdependence of Nye and Robert Kehoane Josehp.
