Tuotannon ja varastonhallinnan kehittäminen kysyntäennusteiden avulla

Diplomityön tavoitteena on tutkia kysyntäennusteiden hyödyntämistä valmistavan teollisuusyrityksen tuotannossa ja varastonhallinnassa. Työn alussa esitellään kysynnän tuntemiseen ja ennustamiseen liittyvään teoriaan, jonka jälkeen tutkitaan teorian tarjoamia mahdollisuuksia linkittää kysyntäennusteet tuotannon ja varastonhallinnan avuksi. Työn empiria osassa kuvataan ensin Peikko Group Oy:n kysyntäennusteiden nykytilanne. Tämän jälkeen vertaillaan kahden eri lähestymistavan soveltuvuutta, joilla kohdeyritys voisi mahdollisesti rakentaa tuotannolle ja varastonhallinnalle tarpeellisia kysyntäennusteita päätöksenteon tueksi. Tuotannon kannalta työn keskeisin tulos on kysyntäennusteiden pohjalta muodostettu kuormaennuste ja varastonhallinnan kannalta tarvittavan ennustetarkkuuden määrittäminen, jotta ennusteita voitaisiin hyödyntää varastonohjausparametrien määrityksessä.

The aim of this master’s thesis is to study how demand forecasts can be utilized in production and inventory management in industrial enterprise. A basic theory of knowing the demand and how to forecast is presented at the beginning of the work. Then, there is explored different possibilities how demand forecasts can be linked to production and inventory management. In the empirical part of the study is at first described Peikko Group’s current situation of demand forecasts. Then, there is compared the compatibility of two different approach and several forecasting methods for building demand forecast, which Peikko could possible use in production and inventory management. The main result for production side is a new workload forecast, which is formed by demand forecast. For inventory management the main result is to find out the required forecast accuracy, before forecast can be used for example determining safety stock levels.
