Yhteistyön ongelmat kahden oppilaitoksen välillä – Case: Kotka Maritime Centre

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää kahden oppilaitoksen, Kymenlaakson ammattikorkeakoulun ja Etelä-Kymenlaakson ammattiopiston merenkulkualan koulutusten, välisiä yhteistyöongelmia. Tutkimus rajattiin koskemaan täydennyskoulutus- ja simulaattorikeskusyhteistyön ongelmia. Yhteistyössä oli todettu olevan ongelmia, ja tutkimuksella selvitettiin ongelmat ja luotiin toimenpide-ehdotuksia ongelmien ratkaisemiseksi. Tutkimus toteutettiin puolistrukturoiduin haastatteluin, johon haastateltiin yhteensä 22 henkilöä molemmista oppilaitoksista. Tutkimuksen runko luotiin teoreettisen viitekehyksen mukaisesti organisaatioiden välisen yhteistyön elementeistä. Haastattelujen analysoinnissa käytettiin sisällönanalyysiä. Tutkimuksen perusteella löydettiin useita ongelmia yhteistyössä. Kolme keskeisintä ongelmaa olivat henkilösuhteissa esiintynyt luottamuspula ja henkilökemiat, johtamisen puute sekä roolien ja työtehtävien epäselvyys. Työtä ongelmien korjaamiseksi tulee olemaan, mutta ne ovat ratkaistavissa luomalla tarkemmat suuntaviivat yhteistyölle ja lisäämällä vuorovaikutusta kokoontumisten avulla. Molemmilla oppilaitoksilla oli tulevaisuuteen tähtäävä näkemys yhteistyön lisäämisestä ja kehittämisestä.

The purpose of this study was to define the problems that occur in the organisation of marine technology studies when conducted in cooperation between two educational institutions, Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences and Kymenlaakso Vocational College. More precisely, this study focused on the problems that arise in the cooperation related to continuing education and the use of a simulator centre. The presence of problems had been recognized prior to this study thus the objective was to identify and define these problems and suggest means to solve them. The study was conducted with the aid of semi-structured interviews. In total, 22 subjects were interviewed representing both educational institutions. This study was based on a theoretical framework of reference that was composed of the elements of the cooperation. A content analysis was applied in the examination of the interview responses. This study revealed a number of problems in the cooperation. The three core problems proved to be a lack of trust and other personal issues in the relationships between staff members, lack of leadership, and confusion concerning the roles and duties of staff members. It will require a great effort to solve these problems, but the task will not be impossible if the cooperation is better coordinated and interaction is increased by arranging more meetings. Both educational institutions share the desire to increase and develop cooperation in the future.
