Valmistusstrategian muodostaminen uudelle tuoteperheelle

Diplomityön tavoitteena on tutkia valmistusstrategian muodostamista rajaten tarkastelu yhteen tuoteperheeseen. Työn teoriaosuudessa suoritaan kirjallisuuskatsaus, jonka keskeisempänä tuloksena luodaan teoriaviitekehys valmistusstrategian muodostamisesta. Valmistusstrategian osa-alueiksi rajataan toimitusketjun rakenne, tuotantomuodon valinta, kapasiteetin suunnittelu sekä materiaalinohjaus. Työn soveltavassa osuudessa muodostetaan esitetyn teoriaviitekehyksen avulla valmistusstrategiaehdotelma Case – yrityksen uudelle tuoteperheelle. Valmistusstrategian tavoitteet sekä rajoitteet tunnistetaan tarkastelemalla yrityksen ylemmän tason strategioita, markkinavaatimuksia, valmistuksen resursseja sekä päivittäistä toimintaa. Kokonaisuudessaan diplomityö käsittelee valmistusstrategian muodostamista aikaisempaa kirjallisuutta yksityiskohtaisemmin ja käytännönläheisemmästä näkökulmasta. Case – yrityksen uudelle tuoteperheelle ehdotettu valmistusstrategia todetaan seuraavan yleisesti hyviä toimitusketjun johtamisen periaatteita.

The purpose of this master thesis is to study the process of manufacturing strategy formulation in scope of one product category. Theoretical part of the thesis consists of a literature review about manufacturing strategy formulation. A framework for the manufacturing strategy formulation is created based on the conducted literature review. Supply chain structure, product delivery strategy, capacity strategy and material planning are considered as decision making areas of manufacturing strategy. In a case study, a suggestion for the manufacturing strategy of a new product family is made by utilizing framework presented in the theoretical part of the thesis. The goals of the manufacturing strategy are identified by observing strategy from top-down, bottom-up, market requirements and manufacturing resources perspectives. All in all, the master thesis offers more practical and detailed view for the manufacturing strategy formulation than presented earlier in the literature. The suggested manufacturing strategy is considered to follow good principles of supply chain management.
