Skenaariomenetelmän käyttö toimialaympäristön analyysissa

Tämän pro gradu – tutkielman tarkoituksena on kuvata miten toimialaympäristöä analysoidaan käyttäen tulevaisuudentutkimukseen tarkoitettua skenaariomenetelmää. Globaali muutosvauhti ja lisääntynyt syklisyys tuovat haastetta toimintaympäristön analysointiin. Yrityksille muutosten huomaaminen ja niiden ymmärtäminen ovat pitkän aikavälin menestystekijöitä. Tässä tutkimuksessa tavoitteena on tunnistaa arvopaperimarkkinoiden keskeiset toimialaympäristötekijät ja niihin sisältyvät arvot. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on ymmärtää strategisen ja ennakoivan toimintaympäristön seurannan merkitys. Teoreettisena viitekehyksenä keskityttiin tulevaisuudentutkimuksen lisäksi makrotason toimialaympäristöanalyysiin. Aineistonkeruu suoritettiin sekä kirjoituspöytätutkimuksena että kvalitatiivisena tutkimushaastatteluna johtavia toimiala-asiantuntijoita haastattelemalla. Skenaariotyöskentelymenetelmäksi valittiin morfologinen skenaariotyöskentely. Skenaarioita rakentamalla pyrittiin visioimaan mahdollista tulevaisuuden suuntaa ja kuvattiin eri tulevaisuuspolkujen kehittyminen. Tutkimuksessa luotiin tulevaisuustaulukon pohjalta kolme vaihtoehtoista skenaariota Suomen arvopaperimarkkinoille.

The objective of this Master’s thesis is to describe how to analyze the industry environment using the scenario method of futures studies. Acceleration of global change and more prevalent cyclicality have brought challenges to the analysis of the operating environment. Identifying and understanding these changes are key factors for the long-term success of companies. The aim of the research in this Master’s thesis is to recognize the essential factors of the stock market industry environment and their different values. The purpose of the research is to understand the significance of the strategic and proactive monitoring of the operating environment. In addition to futures studies, macro level industry environment analysis was used in the theoretical framework of this thesis. Data collection was conducted through desk research as well as through qualitative interviews with leading industry experts. Morphological scenario analysis was selected as a scenario building method. By creating scenarios, the aim was to envisage the direction of potential future development and to describe the progression of different future paths. In this research, morphological path were used to create three alternative scenarios for the Finnish Stock Market.
