Open Source Archive (OSA) is an EU funded project by Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (MAMK). It produces a complete service solution for archives and organizations with data preservation needs. The software is based on Fedora Commons and is built with well-known open source technology and tools. OSA was started in May 2012 and will continue until the end of 2014. A public online beta version is published in spring 2014. The focus is on data lifecycle management, search and indexing and easy user interfaces for both the information professionals and the consumers accessing the content. The project will also cover the migration to Fedora 4 platform. It implements a flexible linked data model designed in Capture project. The model enables fast and intuitive ingest and description of real-world documents and contextual objects. Sustainability is one of the main development drivers. As much as possible is implemented with open source and released with compatible licensing. Open source supports sustainability because of the economic, technological and management reasons. Community and people are also a center piece for development. An agile approach was adopted to ensure that this was kept in mind
