Presentation at Open Repositories 2014, Helsinki, Finland, June 9-13, 2014 Fedora Interest Group Presentations Indiana University and Northwestern University, in collaboration with nine partner institutions, are in the last year of a three-year IMLS-funded effort to build a fully open source solution for managing digital audio and video collections. Now in its third full release, Avalon is a Hydra ‘head’ that employs several other open source technologies, including Opencast Matterhorn and Fedora. This session will include: an overview and demonstration of Avalon’s capabilities; an update on production deployments at Indiana and Northwestern and pilots at Avalon partner institutions; and a report on developing plans for sustainability, future feature development, and integration with other Hydra initiatives. |
