In a time where more and more multimedia material is being created, the CERN institutional repository, the storage and dissemination platform for all of CERN’s multimedia material, is acting as a bridge between the producers, the CERN media labs and the experiments, and the consumers, the general public and the journalists. For this, we have been working on implementing APIs as part of the Invenio software, in order to improve the integration, accessibility and sharing of multimedia resources. These APIs provide easy embedding of multimedia material, either via custom implementation, or by supporting the oEmbed format, responsive image serving for Drupal-based websites hosted at CERN, and more. Also, to improve the accessibility of multimedia material, the image storage model in Invenio has been redesigned.
