FACT is the SHERPA tool that tells authors if a given journal complies with certain funders’ requirements for open access, whether via the gold or green route. Since its launch in April 2013, FACT has become established as an important open access tool in the UK. Nonetheless there are people who would like to do more with it, such as: - Customise FACT for their own institutional environments - not just branding, but intercepting FACT data to substitute local open access contacts, highlight local preferences for green or gold OA, etc. - Gather statistics on potential compliance of collections of articles and help manage actual compliance - Provide comparative tables of journals and their compliance in particular subject areas The FACT API lets people do this. During this talk I will present a number of case studies, including those above, and show how easy they are to implement. FACT currently services the major United Kingdom research funders, but it has been designed to be extendable to cover additional funders and other countries.
