Prosessiajattelun soveltaminen taloushallinnon tarpeisiin: case merkkitavaran vähittäismyyjä

Tämän Pro gradu -tutkielman tavoitteena on löytää prosessikirjallisuudesta kohdeyrityksen taloushallinnon kehittämiseen soveltuvia menetelmiä ja tunnistaa taloushallinnosta ne osa-alueet, joiden parantamisesta olisi yritykselle hyötyä tulevaisuudessa. Tutkielmassa sovelletaan kvalitatiivista analyysitapaa ja tutkimusstrategiana on tapaustutkimus. Aineistonkeruu suoritetaan empiirisen osion osalta haastattelujen, kyselyn ja havainnoinnin avulla. Teoreettinen viitekehys rakentuu taloushallinnon entistä strategisemman roolin ympärille etsien apukeinoja johtamiseen sekä prosessi- että laatuajattelusta. Tutkielmassa kartoitetaan kohdeyrityksen taloushallinnon prosessit sekä mallinnetaan niiden kulku ja rajapinnat muiden prosessien kanssa. Lisäksi tuodaan esiin prosesseissa piilevät kriittiset pisteet ja kehityskohteet. Kehitysehdotuksia esitetään myös kohdeyrityksen taloushallinnon organisoinnin ja laskentatoimen teorian vertailun sekä prosessiajattelun eri sovellusmahdollisuuksien pohjalta.

The aim of this Master's Thesis is to find applicable methods for the development of the case firm's financial administration from process literature and identify those areas, whose improvement would benefit the firm in the future. The method of analysis is qualitative and the research is conducted as a case study. Collection of empirical data is done through interviews, a questionnaire and observation. The theoretical framework is build around the even more strategic role of financial administration, searching for means to manage it from both process and quality thinking. In the thesis, the processes of the case firm's financial department are mapped and the process flows, as well as the interfaces to other processes, are modelled. In addition, the critical points and targets for development in the processes are brought up. Suggestions for development are presented also based on the comparison between the organization of the case firm's financial department and accounting theory as well as the different application possibilities of process thinking.
