Tuotanto- ja pakkausmateriaalien varastojen nykytila ja kehittäminen lääkeannostelijoita valmistavassa tehtaassa

Diplomityön tarkoituksena oli selvittää lääkeannostelijoita valmistavan tehtaan materiaalivarastojen nykytila. Varaston nykytila-analyysi jaettiin pääoma- ja operatiivisen tehokkuuden arviointiin. Työssä haluttiin kartoittaa toimenpide-ehdotuksia varastonohjauksen tehostamiseksi. Diplomityön tarkoituksena oli myös lisätä avainhenkilöiden ymmärrystä koskien varastojen pidon vaikutuksia yrityksen liiketoimintaan. Varastojen nykytila voitiin kiteyttää suureen pääoman sitoutumiseen, hitaisiin kiertoaikoihin sekä tehokkaan työskentelyn kannalta liian pieniin ja ahtaisiin varastoihin. Kustannuksia ei ole otettu kokonaisuudessaan huomioon tilattaessa ja varastoitaessa materiaalia. Varaston hitaita kiertonopeuksia ei ole tunnistettu vaikuttajina yrityksen tulokseen ja kannattavuuteen. Jotta varastonohjaus- ja hankintaprosesseja voitaisiin tehostaa, pitäisi ostotoimintoihin tehdä muutoksia. Tilausrytmiä ja –määriä täytyisi harkita uudelleen, jotta voitaisiin vähentää varastoihin sitoutuvan pääoman määrää. Informaationvirtaa tehtaalla sekä organisaatiorajojen yli pitäisi parantaa, jotta voitaisiin vähentää kysynnän heilahteluja sekä siihen varautumista. Varmuusvarastojen pidosta saatavien korvausten olisi katettava koko materiaalin kiertoajan aikana syntyvät varastoinnin kustannukset.

The target of this master’s thesis was to investigate the current state of material inventories at a drug delivery device manufacturing plant. The stock analysis was divided between examining the capital and operational efficiency. Proposals for operations to enhance the efficiency of inventory control were mapped. The purpose of this study was also to increase the knowledge of personnel working in key positions concerning the effects of inventories on the company’s business. The current state of inventories at the plant can be summarized as highly capital intensive. Also, the turnover rates of materials can be improved a lot. The warehouse space is very limited for working efficiently. The effects of inventory and purchasing costs are not sufficiently taken into consideration when ordering material. The effects of slow inventory turnover are not recognized as an influence on the company’s earnings and profitability. In order to improve inventory management, amendments to purchasing processes should be made. Information flow at the plant and across organizational borders needs to be developed to reduce demand distortion. Also, the effects of inventory holding needs to be coordinated at the plant to ensure that all costs are taken into consideration. Compensation from holding certain safety stocks of materials should cover the whole cycle of the material and be better noted in pricing finished products.
