Alueverkkojen yhteisöllisyyden edistäminen, vaihtoehtojen arviointi ja yhteisöverkkoportaalin toteutus

Internetin yhteisöpalvelut ovat saavuttaneet suuren suosion. Ne mahdollistavat digitaalisten yhteisöjen ja yhteisöllisyyden tunteiden aikaansaamisen käyttäjien välille. Kehittyneet verkkoyhteydet ja sisältötekniikat ovat antaneet mahdollisuuden monipuolisten vuorovaikutustyökalujen toteuttamiseksi. Sähköinen yhteisöllisyys on nouseva trendi, joka tukee arkipäivästä todellisuutta. Verkkojen paikallinen kehitys, niin laajakaistan kuin erilaisten alueverkkojen avulla on nostanut ajatuksia luoda myös paikallista yhteisöllisyyttä globaalien yhteisöpalvelujen rinnalle. Nopeiden alueverkkojen laajentuminen ovat tuoneet edistyneet verkkoyhteydet niin lähiöihin kuin taajamienkin ulkopuolelle. Avointen alueverkkojen mallissa verkko ja palvelukerros ovat eriytetty toisistaan. Ulkopuoliset palveluntarjoajat voivat tarjota palveluitaan suoraan alueverkon käyttäjille lähempänä verkkotasoa, verrattuna perinteiseen yhden verkkooperaattorin malliin. Tämä mahdollistaa uusien innovatiivisempien palveluiden kehittelyn. Tässä diplomityössä tutkittiin mahdollisuuksia joilla voidaan edistää yhteisöllisyyttä paikallisissa alueverkoissa ja hyödyntää niiden paikallista suorituskykyä, sekä resursseja palveluiden toteutuksessa. Työssä selvitettiin ensin mistä käsitteet yhteisö ja yhteisöllisyys ovat muodostuneet. Selvityksen pohjalta tutkittiin mitä teknisiä menetelmiä on yhteisöjen ja yhteisöllisyyden tunteen aikaansaamiseksi olemassa. Selvityksen tuloksena syntyi teknologinen tiekartta tietoverkkoyhteisöllisyyteen, sekä sosiaalisten palvelualustojen luokittelukaavio, joiden tarkoitus on yhdessä kuvastaa yhteisöllisyyttä tukevia palvelumahdollisuuksia. Työn viimeisessä vaiheessa toteutettiin yhteisöllinen alueverkkopalvelu, sekä yhteisövalvontajärjestelmä – lisäarvopalvelukonsepti, jotka pyrkivät hyödyntämään paikallisen alueverkon tarjoamaa suorituskykyä ja resursseja.

Social services in Internet have gained a lot of success between the users. Subscribers’ advanced network connections and enhanced content techniques in Internet are making possible to establish rich interaction environments among the users. A digital sense of community is a rising trend, which will support our everyday life. Enhanced regional access networks are raising questions about of creating a local social service instead of using global ones. High performance data networks are also expanding from cities to rural areas. Open Access Network (OAN) is a growing model for subscribers’ network access. It gives an open framework for customers and service providers to access and provide services. OAN model gives closer network level access to external service providers, compared with a traditional network operator model. This helps innovating new services to target networks. In this thesis are studied different possibilities how to advance the sense of community in regional access networks, and how to utilize the local network performance, resources and sense of community. First is explained the meaning of terms community and the sense of community. Second phase is to find out what are the possible technologies achieving social communities in a digitalized world. Potential technologies are compiled into a technological roadmap for the sense of community in regional access networks and social platforms evaluation chart. These two charts will illustrate the service possibilities which will produce the sense of community in digital networks environment. In final part of this thesis is accomplished a local social service and community surveillance system –service concept. These demonstrations try to take advantage of local access networks performance and resources to establish the sense of community for the users.
