Tietojärjestelmän tuoma hyöty ja implementointiongelmat controlling-organisaatiossa

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkia uuden tietojärjestelmän tuomia hyötyjä kohdeyrityksen controlling-organisaatiossa, sekä tutkia implementoinnin epäonnistumiseen johtaneita tekijöitä. Tavoitteena oli selvittää uuden järjestelmän konkreettiset hyödyt kohdeorganisaatiossa, ja selvittää projektin ongelmakohdat verraten niitä kirjallisuudessa esiteltyihin projektin menestystekijöihin. Teoriaosa jakaantuu kahteen osaan, joista ensimmäisessä osassa käydään läpi tietojärjestelmän ja liiketoimintatiedon hallinnan määrittelyä, sekä niillä saavutettuja hyötyjä. Toisessa osassa käydään läpi projektin rakennetta, ja esitellään projektin menestystekijät. Käytännön osuudessa esitellään organisaation uuden tietojärjestelmän hyötyjä loppukäyttäjille tehdyn kyselytutkimuksen perusteella, ja projektin ongelmakohtia projektiryhmän haastattelujen ja tutkijan havainnoinnin perusteella. Tietojärjestelmälle pystyttiin tunnistamaan kirjallisuudessakin esiintyneitä hyötyjä, mutta loppukäyttäjien mielestä tärkeimmät hyödyt eivät kuitenkaan toteutuneet järjestelmässä hyvin. Projektin suuremmaksi ongelmaksi nousi kokonaisvaltaisen näkemyksen puute projektin tuotoksesta, jonka seurauksena valmis järjestelmä ei vastannut määrittelyjä.

The purpose of this research was to study benefits of the new information system in corporation's controlling organization and also to identify the factors causing failure in implementation. The objective was to find out the concrete benefits of the new system in the organization and to identify the problems by comparing them to success factors found in literature. Theoretical part of this study is divided to two parts of which the first one discusses the theory of an information system and business intelligence and also the benefits gained by them. The second part deals with the structure of a project and project success factors. In the experimental part of this research benefits of the information system are presented based on a survey sent to the end users. Also problems in implementation are presented based on interviews of the project team members and observations of the researcher. Benefits from the literature could also be identified in the new information system, but according to end users the benefits didn't appear well enough. The biggest problem in the implementation project appeared to be the missing general view of the end result of the project, which caused the finished project to not match the specifications.
