Visiosta toimivaksi yritysverkostoksi –verkostoitumisprosessin tutkiminen ja tulevaisuuden toimintamallin rakentaminen Case: Imatran Seudun Koivukeskus

Tutkimuksen tarkoitus oli tutkia, miten case-verkosto Imatran Seudun Koivukeskus on syntynyt ja luoda sille sopiva tulevaisuuden toimintamalli. Tutkimuksessa hyödynnettiin käsiteanalyyttista ja konstruktiivista tutkimusotetta. Tutkimuksen tavoitteita olivat keskeisten käsitteiden määrittely; onnistuneiden ja epäonnistuneiden verkostoitumisesimerkkien kuvaaminen ja analysointi; case-verkoston esittely; case-verkoston historiallinen analyysi, sen toimintamallin tutkiminen ja vertaaminen esimerkkitapauksiin sekä case-verkoston tulevaisuuden kehitysnäkymien analysointi ja sille sopivan toimintamallin muodostaminen. Tutkielma koostui teoreettisesta osasta ja empiirisestä osasta. Teoriaosio käsitteli verkostoitumisen teoriaa. Tämä osio ja suoritetut teemahaastattelut loivat pohjan empiiriselle osuudelle ja toimintamallin muodostamiselle case-yritykselle. Tutkimuksen perusteella kriittisimmiksi case-verkoston tulevaisuuden toimintamallin osa-alueiksi osoittautuivat raaka-aineen saatavuus sekä avoimuus ja tiedonkulku verkostossa. Näiden lisäksi toimintamallissa tulee painottaa alihankinnan ja jatkojalostuksen lisäämistä, tutkimus- ja kehitystoimintaa sekä kuivaustoiminnan osaamistason kehittämistä.

The purpose of the thesis was to examine how the case network Imatran Seudun Koivukeskus has originated and to develop a suitable functional model for it. The study included characteristics of both concept analytical and constructive paradigms. The objectives of the study were to define central concepts of the study; to represent and analyze successful and failed cases of networking; to represent the case network; a historical analysis of the case network and to examine it`s functional model and to compare it between case examples and to analyze future development prospects of the case network and to formulate a suitable functional model for it. The study consisted of both theoretical part and empirical part. The theoretical part discussed the theory of networking. This part and thematic interviews created a foundation to the empirical part and to the formulation of the functional model of the case network. The study showed that the most critical components of the future functional model of the case network are the availability of raw materials, openness and communication in the network. Besides these we need to place more emphasis in the functional model on subcontracting, further processing, research and development and the competent level of the airing function.
