Liiketoiminnan ohjausraportoinnin kehittäminen

Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli määritellä kohdeyrityksen, Paroc Oy Ab:n, liiketoimintaprosessiin liittyvät keskeiset alueet ja mahdolliset ongelmakohdat sekä kehittää ennakointia mahdollistavaa raportointia. Päätavoite jaettiin kolmeen keskeiseen aihealueeseen. Ensimmäinen aihealue käsitti kokonaistoimintaprosessin kuvauksen ohjattavuuden näkökulmasta, liiketoimintaprosessissa toiminnan sujumiseen keskeisimmin vaikuttavien kohtien kuvauksen ja raportoinnin kytkeytymisen näihin kohtiin. Toinen aihealue käsitti Rakennuseristeiden kotimaan myynnin raportoinnin ja kolmas aihealue raporttikartan ja sen kehittämisen. Tutkimus toteutettiin pääosin konstruktiivisella tutkimusotteella, vaikka alussa tehtiinkin käsitemäärittelyjä työn vaatimassa laajuudessa. Tutkimukseen liittyy osittain toiminta-analyyttisen tutkimusotteen piirteitä.Työn teoreettinen osa tehtiin kirjallisuustutkimuksena. Teoreettisessa osassa käytiin työhön liittyen läpi seuraavat käsitteet: liiketoimintaprosessi, logistiikka, ohjaus, raportointi ja kannattavuus. Teoreettisessa osassa luodun viitekehyksen tarkoitus oli tukea tutkimuksen empiiristä osaa.Empiirinen osa toteutettiin case-tutkimuksena. Sen yhteydessä käytiin kohdeyrityksen sisäiseen ja ulkoiseen käyttöön tarkoitettua materiaalia läpi sekä tehtiin kysely Rakennuseristeiden eri toiminnoissa työskenteleville henkilöille. Kyselyn avulla tutkittiin päätöksentekotilanteita ja tiedontarvetta, ongelmatilanteita, raportointia sekä mahdollisia puutteita.Tutkimuksessa on tarkasteltu kohdeyrityksen liiketoimintaprosessiin liittyviä toimintoja ja tietojärjestelmiä sekä budjetointiprosessia. Rakennuseristeiden kotimaan myynnin raportoinnin osalta on tutkittu teknistä toteutusta, raporttien hyväksikäyttöä, poikkeamien analysointia ja myynnin tasoon vaikuttavia tekijöitä. Raporttikartan kehittämisen yhteydessä on tutkittu päätöksentekoon liittyvää tiedon tarvetta sekä raportointia. Näiden perusteella on esitetty kehittämiskohteita ja mahdollisia jatkotutkimuksen aiheita.Keskeisimmiksi kehittämiskohteiksi nostettiin myynnin perusraportoinnin laajentaminen, tietojärjestelmien välisen tiedon kulun parantaminen ja tietojärjestelmiä koskevan integraation kehittäminen sekä eri toiminnoissa työskentelevien henkilöiden välisen yhteistyön parantaminen. Näitä kehittämällä parannetaan ennakointia mahdollistavaa ohjausraportointia johdon päätöksenteon tueksi.

The objective of this thesis was to define the Target Company’s, Paroc Oy Ab, key areas and possible problem points of its business process. In addition, the objective was to develop the derivate action reporting. The main objectives of the thesis were divided into three areas. The first area consists of the description of the complete operation process from the controllability point of view, main aspects that influence the business process, and how reporting is tied to this process. The second area comprises the reporting system for internal sales of Building Insulation Group. The third part comprises a reporting chart and its development.The thesis was realised mainly by using constructive research but the concepts were defined according to the required extent including features of action research. Literary research was used for the theoretical part of the thesis. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the following concepts are covered: business process, logistics, control, reporting, and profitability. The objective of the framework in the theoretical part of the thesis supports the empirical part of the thesis. The empirical part of the thesis was carried out as a Case Study. During the Case Study, material meant for internal and external use of the target-company was examined. A questionnaire was also sent to personnel of the Building Insulation group. The questionnaire studied decision making and the need for information distribution, problem situations, and also possible shortcomings.The thesis examines the operations, information systems, and budget process of the complete business process for the Target Company. For the domestic reporting of the Building Insulation group, the technical realisation, the use of reports, the analysis of deviations, and the effects on volume of sales were studied. During the development of the Reporting Chart, the requirement for information and reporting on the decision making process were studied. Based on the previously mentioned studies, the thesis suggests areas to be developed and areas that need further study.The areas that are seen as central for development are; the expansion of the sales reporting, improvement of information systems interfaces, and integration development of information systems. In addition, the co-operation of personnel working in different functions has to be improved. By improving these areas, it is possible to improve the complete control reporting that aids management decision.
