Metsäteollisuuslaitoksen puuhuollon ja puutavaran tehdasmittauksen tehokkuus

Työssä pyritään kehittämään mittaristo mittauksen kohteelle, kokoamaan mittausaineisto kohteesta ja etsimään vertailukumppani sekä suorittamaan vertailu yksiköiden välillä. Työn teoriaosa rakennetaan suorituskyvyn mittauksen ja benchmarkingin periaatteista Niiden avulla kehitellään malli mittariston rakentumisesta ja vertailujen suorittamisesta Käytännön osuudessa esitellään case organisaatiot, valitaan ja arvioidaan mittareita, analysoidaan suorituskykyerojen syitä ja tehdään päätelmiä niistä. Suorituskyvyn mittaamisen periaatteita voidaan hyvin yhdistellä muihin kehittämisen työkaluihin. Käytännössä mittariston kehittäminen on laaja projekti ja vaatisi lähes aina työryhmän panoksen. Keskeisen ongelman muodostaa se, että eri yritysten välille on vaikea löytää vertailtavuutta. Vertailujen suorittaminen jäi tässä työssä ainoastaan periaatteiden varaan, koska vertailuaineistoa ei saatu analyysiin.

The aim of this Master’s Thesis is to develop and design performance measures for performance management in the case organisation, collect data, find benchmarking partner and compare to the units one another. The theoretical part of the study is based on literary research in the field of performance measurement and benchmarking. Those elements are used to develop the framework to the constructions of the measures and the comparisons of the units. In the empirical part of the study are described the units, chosen and assessed measures. If any performance differences are found, they are analysed and the conclusions are made. The results of the study show that the elements of performance measurement can be combined to the other management systems or developments successfully. In practice the design of measures is a multi-stage process that would demand a design team to be carried out. Comparability between units was noticed to be a main problem of the measures design. All the data was not received to use in time. The comparisons could be made only at a principal level.
