Biojätteen erilliskeräyksen ja sekajätteenkeräyksen kustannusvertailu

Tutkimuksessa selvitetään biojätteen erilliskeräyksen ja sekajätteenkeräyksen kustannusero. Tutkimuksen tarkastelualueena käytetään Etelä-Karjalan Jätehuolto Oy:n toiminta-aluetta. Selvityksessä käytettään alueelle tyypillisiä keräystapoja ja lähtötietoja. Selvityksessä tarkastellaan ainoastaan kotitalouksissa syntyvän jätteen keräyskustannuksia. Ulkopuolelle on jätetty liikekiinteistöt ja liiketiloja sisältävät asuintaloudet sekä aluekeräyspisteet, mutta muuten kustannustekijät on pyritty huomioimaan mahdollisimman laajalti. Tutkimuksen mukaan biojätteen erilliskeräyksen kustannukset ovat selvästi suuremmat kuin sekajätteen keräyksen. Omakotitaloalueilla keräyskustannukset ovat kaksi kertaa suuremmat kuin kerros- ja rivitaloalueella. Sekajätteenkeräyksen kokonaiskustannukset ovat noin 1960 mk/t ja biojätteen erilliskeräyksen noin 2900 mk/t. Muita tutkimuksia suurempi kustannusero selittyy osin sillä, että kustannustekijöitä on huomioitu laajemmin kuin muissa tämäntyyppisissä tutkimuksissa. Jätteenkeräyksen kustannuksia pystytään pienentämään esimerkiksi lisäämällä omatoimista kompostointia, keräysvälineiden teknillisellä kehittämisellä ja pientaloaluilla kiinteistöryhmäkohtaisten keräyspisteiden muodostamisella.

The research determines the cost difference between separate organic waste collection and bagged waste collection. The study area of the report is Etelä-Karjalan Jätehuolto Inc.'s operation region. Regionally typical collection methods and source information are used in the report. Collection costs from municipal waste only are studied. Business premises, accommodation units containing business premises and regional collecting places have been excluded, but other than that efforts have been made to take the cost factor into account as extensively as possible. According to the report, the costs of separate organic waste collection are remarkably higher than those of bagged waste collection. In detached-house areas, collection costs are twice as high as in apartment- and terrace house areas. The total costs of bagged waste collection are about 1960 FIM/t and of organic waste collection about 2900 FIM/t. The reason for the cost differences being greater in this research than in other researches of the same kind is that here a wider range of cost factor have been taken into account. The costs of garbage collection can be reduced by for example increasing self-acting composting, technically developing collection equipment and by establishing collecting places for groups of properties on small-house areas.
