EPC-projektin hallinta ja johtaminen

Tämän diplomityön tavoitteena oli tutkia erään projektiliiketoimintaa harjoittavan yrityksen toimintajärjestelmää. Työn lähtökohtana oli yrityksen toimittamien projektien laajuuden nopea kasvu lähivuosien aikana. Työssä tutkittiin yrityksen nykyistä toimintajärjestelmää ja sen ohjeistusta nimen omaan EPC (engineering procurement construction) projekteissa. Toimintajärjestelmän ohjeistusta tutkittiin yrityksessä tehdyillä henkilöhaastatteluilla sekä vertaamalla olemassa olevia ohjeita ja kuvauksia projektin hallinnan ja johtamisen teorioihin. Teoriat, joihin yrityksen toimintajärjestelmää työssä verrattiin olivat Project Management Institute:n, Project Management Body of Knowledge ja International standard ISO 10006, Quality Management guidelines to quality in project management. Työn teoriaosassa käsiteltiin projektin hallintaa ja johtamista, projektin eri vaiheita, projektin organisointia ja ositusta sekä projektikulttuuria. Työn tuloksena luotiin käsitys siitä, mitä osaprosesseja EPC-projektin hallintaan ja johtamiseen kohdeyrityksessä liittyy. Prosesseja tutkimalla muodostettiin käsitys yrityksen toimintajärjestelmän ohjeistuksen tasosta ja esitettiin tältä pohjalta mahdollisuuksia toimintajärjestelmän kehittämiseksi. Yhtenä työn keskeisimmistä tuloksista esitettiin EPC-projektin projektikuvaus.

The goal of the thesis was to explore the operating system of a project business company. The starting point of the study was the fast growth of projects delivered by the company in near future. The study focused to examine company’s current operating system and instructions specially in EPC (engineering procurement construction) projects. The introductions of the operating system were researched in the company by interviewing and by comparing current instructions and expositions to the theories of project management. Theories were: Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge and International standard ISO 10006, Quality Management guidelines to quality in project management. The theoritical part of the thesis includes project management, different phases of the project, the project organization, work breakdown structure and the culture of the project. The result of the study reports what subprocesses are included in administration and management of EPC-project. By studying these processes the conseption of the companys’s operating system was created and from these basis opportunities for operating system’s development were introduced. One of the main results of this study was the exposition of EPC-project.
