Diplomityö on tehty Instrumentarium Oyj:hin kuuluvan Datex-Ohmedan Helsingin tehtaalla. Työn tavoitteena on ollut Helsingin tehtaan tuotantoprosessin ja sen mitoitussääntöjen kehittäminen. Työ on ollut osa sekä yrityksen toimituskyvyn kehittämisprojektia This thesis was done at Instrumentarium Oyj Datex-Ohmeda premises in Helsinki, Finland. The objective of this study was to develop rules for lead-times and safety stocks. This study has been an integral part of the D-O internal delivery reliability project, and a part of the global factory-modelling project. The widely accepted preconditions for efficient production process, in terms of maximum customer service, minimum inventory investment and efficient plant operation, were studied in detail. To maintain competitiveness, companies have to find balance between these contradictory objectives. The importance of time has increased, and today time is considered a significant factor in managing processes within a company, as well as between organisations. Based on the analysis of the current situation, the objective was to standardise operational activities, increase flexibility, and to achieve quick and standardised response to customer orders. Standardisation has been achieved through process lead-time reduction and improved safety stock planning, and through studying interdependencies between these two. Different types of modelling processes have been used in analysing the previously mentioned interdependencies. |
