Tietoturvaohjelmiston kehitys ja immateriaalioikeus

Diplomityö kartoittaa yleisesti tietoturvaohjelmistokehityksessä huomioitavia immateriaalioikeudellisia näkökohtia ja selvittää yksityiskohtaisemmin niiden soveltamista ja vaikutusta erään tietoturvakomponentin suunnittelussa ja toteutuksessa Soneran TradeXpress-ohjelmistoon. Kyseinen komponentti mahdollistaa muun muassa autentikaation ja salauksen käytön sähköisessä tiedonsiirrossa. Työ käsittää myös perustiedot tietoturvasta ja TradeXpress-ohjelmistosta, jotta komponentin kehitystä käsittelevän osuuden ymmärtäminen olisi helpompaa. Immateriaalioikeutta käsitellään vain niiltä osin, joilla on vaikutusta tietokoneohjelmiin ja ohjelmistotuotantoon. Näitä ovat muun muassa tekijänoikeus, patenttioikeus ja tavaramerkkioikeus. Diplomityön tuloksena syntyi selvitys immateriaalioikeudesta ja sen vaikutuksesta ohjelmistotuotantoprosesseihin.

This Master's thesis explores intellectual property rights and their application to the development of security software today. Intellectual property rights are studied in regards to a specific case of the development and implementation of a security software component of the Sonera TradeXpress software. This component enables the use of authentication and encryption in electronic data interchange. The work also describes the basic elements of information security and TradeXpress software, in order to make it easier to comprehend the part of the work that describes the development of this component. Intellectual property rights are only explored in respect to the parts that affect computer software and the software development process. These are, for example, copyrights, patents and trademarks. This work is a result of a research on intellectual property rights and how they affect the processes of computer software development.
