Web Client for Smart Messaging Exchange

TeliaSoneran älykkään viestintäjärjestelmän kehitysluonnoksella (SME) pilotoidaan prototyyppipalveluita, joiden avulla asiakkaat voivat välittää viestejä matkapuhelimilla sekä tietokoneilla. SME:n peruspalveluita voidaan käyttää SIP-standardin mukaisilla asiakasohjelmilla sekä SME:n omilla WAP- ja WWW-käyttöliittymillä. Käyttäjät voivat nähdä toistensa tilatiedon, muuttaa omaa tilatietoaan sekä lähettää SIP-pikaviestejä, sähköpostiviestejä ja tekstiviestejä. Käyttäjät voivat myös ylläpitää listaa yhteyshenkilöistään, vastaanottaa pikaviestejä ja selata vastaanotettuja viestejä. Diplomityössä käsitellään yleisesti SME-järjestelmän rakennetta ja paneudutaan tutkimaan työssä toteutetun SME:n WWW-asiakasohjelman toteutusta. Diplomityössä käydään läpi projektiin liittyviä standardeja, suosituksia, toteustekniikoita sekä palveluita. Lisäksi tarkastellaan työssä hyödynnettyjä ohjelmointirajapintoja, nykyisiä älypuhelimia sekä niiden Internet-selaimia, jotka rajoittavat WWW-asiakaspalvelun toteutuksessa käytettyjä toteutustekniikkavaihtoehtoja. Lopuksi esitellään toteutettujen ohjelmistojen sisäistä rakennetta ja toimintaa.

The TeliaSonera Finland Smart Messaging Exchange (SME) is a development concept that is used to demonstrate prototypes of communication services. SME allows users to communicate with each other using mobile phones and computers. SME can be accessed with standard SIP user agents and SME’s own clients (e.g. SME WAP and Web service applications). SME users can view each other’s presence information and communicate with each other by sending and receiving SIP Instant Messages (IM), emails and GSM short messages. In addition, the custormers can maintain lists of their own contacts and received messages. This paper describes the SME system on common level and then narrows down to the implementation of the SME Web Client application. This paper presents the standards, recommendations, implementation technologies and services that are involved in the implementation. In addition, the application programmer's interfaces, software development kits used in the study will be discussed. The current mobile smart devices and the Web browsing applications used in them are reviewed to find out the restrictions they cast on the SME Web Client implementation. Finally, the structures of the programs implemented in this work will be presented.
