Sanomalehtipaperikoneiden kustannusrakenteiden vertailu

Uudella vuosituhannella metsäteollisuusyrityksien kustannustehokkuuden merkitys tulee korostumaan. Meneillään olevassa koko toimialaa koskevassa rakennemuutoksessa kustannuskilpailukyvyn säilyttäminen on elintärkeää liiketoiminnassa menestymiseen.Tässä työssä kerätään ja analysoidaan erään metsäteollisuusyhtiön sanomalehtipaperikoneiden kustannusrakennetiedot. Tärkeimpänä tavoitteena on lisätä tietoisuutta hintaeroista kustannuskomponenttien välillä sekä tehokkuuseroista eri toimintojen välillä. Tutkimusta voidaan hyödyntää etsittäessä parhaita toimintatapoja sekä käyttää tukemaan erilaisia päätöksentekotilanteita. Tutkimus osoitti konkreettisesti erot kustannuskomponenttien välillä. Alueelliset erot olivat merkittäviä. Kierrätyspaperista tehty sanomalehti-paperi osoittautui analyyseissä selvästi kustannuskilpailukykyisimmäksi. Tutkimuksen perusteella tuotannon painopistettä on siirrettävä tulevaisuudessa entistä enemmän niille alueille, missä paperin valmistuksen edellytykset ovat parhaimmat. Tulevaisuudessa uskotaan laajasti hintaerojen tasoittumiseen eri alueiden välillä, joten mielenkiintoisia muutoksia kustannusrakenteisiin on ainakin näiltä osin tiedossa.

The cost efficiency of forest industry companies will be emphasised in the new millenium. In order to succeed in the business it is important to maintain cost competitiveness despite the restructuring process that is going on in the forest industry.The purpose of this study is to assemble and analyse the cost structure data of a certain forest company’s newsprint machines. The primary aim is to increase awareness of the differences in prices between different cost components and furthermore, the differences in efficiency between activities. This study can be useful when defining the best practices and it can also be used to support decision-making. The study showed the actual differences between cost components. Regional differences were considerable. According to analysis, newsprint made of recycled paper was the most cost competitive. The study also showed that in the future the production should be focused on the regions where the preconditions to produce paper are the best. It is, however, generally believed that in the future the differences in prices will become more even between different regions and thus there will be some interesting changes in cost structures.
