Informaation hallinta prosessiteollisuuden investointiprojektissa

Diplomityössä on tutkittu kohdeyrityksen, UPM-Kymmene Oyj Kymin tuotantoyksikön nykyisiä investointiprojektin tiedonhallinnan käytäntöjä. Nykytilan selvityksen ja haastatteluissa ilmenneiden tarpeiden perusteella on työssä esitelty uusi toimintamalli tulevia investointiprojekteja varten. Diplomityö perustuu aihepiirin kirjalliseen tarkasteluun ja yhteistyökumppaneiden haastatteluihin. Kirjallisuuden avulla on selvitetty dokumenttienhallinnan teoriaa ja tulevaisuuden näkymiä. Haastatteluilla on selvitetty Kymin tiedonhallinnan nykytilaa ja tulevia tarpeita. Haastatteluita on tehty Kymillä sisäisesti ja Kymin konsultti- ja laitetoimittajaosapuolten kanssa. Työssä käsitellään informaationhallintaa dokumenttienhallinnan ja erilaisten investointiprojektissa käsiteltävien dokumenttien pohjalta. Investointiprojektissa syntyvän talletettavan ja arkistoitavan dokumenttiaineiston lisäksi huomioidaan laitetietojen hallinta, mutta vain periaatteellisella tasolla. Investointiprojektin tiedonhallinnassa ehdotetaan siirryttävän perinteisestä eri projektiosapuolten keskinäisestä tiedonvaihdosta verkottuneeseen tiedonhallinnan malliin. Verkottuneessa tiedonhallinnassa toimitaan investointiprojektin osapuolten yhteisen tietovaraston avulla. Työn tuloksena syntynyt kohdeyrityksen toimintamalli koostuu useista eri osa-alueista, mikä mahdollistaa toimintamallin hyödyntämisen yksittäisiä osa-alueita kokonaisuudesta irrottamalla. Toimintamallia on mahdollista hyödyntää vastaavanlaisten tuotanto-laitosten investointiprojektien yhteydessä. Työssä toimintamallin käytännön sovellutus kohdeyrityksessä on esitetty käyttöönottoprojektina.

Present procedures of information management in the investment project in Kymi production unit of subject company, UPM-Kymmene, were studied in this thesis. Based on present state analysis and needs that were arisen during the interviews, a new operations model for the future investment projects was introduced. The master’s thesis is based on studies on written material of the subject and business partner interviews. With help of literature the theory and the future aspects of document management in general has been examined. The present state and the future needs of information management in Kymi production unit has been found out by using interviews. Interviews have been carried out within the Kymi production unit and among the consultants and equipment suppliers that work in co-operation with them. Information management in this thesis is studied based on document management and the usage of different kind of documents in the investment projects. Besides the material that is documented and filed during the investment projects also the control of the equipment data is considered but only on principal level. It is suggested that, in the information management of the investment project, there would be a transfer from a traditional exchange of information with the stakeholders of the project towards a collaboration network model. The networked information management works with help of joined information data warehouse of stakeholders of the investment project. The result of this work is an operations model that consists of several divisions, which enables the use of individual parts of the model unattached from the entity. It is possible to use this operations model in the investment projects of similar industrial plants. In this thesis practical application of operations model in the subject company is shown as an implementation project.
